Science and technology has developed rapidly in China over these years because the Chinese government has accentuated more on funding, renovation and societal status as an essential part of the socio-economic growth. China as a country, has made quick advances in areas such as infrastructure, education, high-tech manufacturing, patents, and commercial applications and is now a world leader for its technology. China is now progressively focusing on indigenous innovations, which will take them to greater heights.
Being one of the significant leaders in innovation and technology, China is set to build its first undersea tunnel for high-speed trains in Zhejiang province, the media reported on Friday. This project is almost set to cover nearly 16.2 km undersea area while the line will cover around 70 km between Ningbo and Zhoushan. This tunnel is designed to run at 250 km per hour and the trains will decrease the journey time from 1.5 hours to around half an hour.
Zhejiang, located in South of Shanghai, is one of the first regions of China that built high-speed rail lines. These high-speed rail lines in the country almost cover 25,000km, which is correspondent to 60 percent of the total world’s population. The biggest projects such as the Beijing-Shanghai line, which is the fastest in the world, reaches up to 350kmm per hour with its sections. In the past few years, the high speed trains have turned out to be one of the main elements of Chinese infrastructure development, which directly comes from the link between Hong Kong and the national rail network.
Based on the success of the Special Economic Zones of the People’s Republic of China, China has now created Economic and Technological Development Zones. They are structuring high-tech industries, attracting foreign investment, the increase in the exports and augment the regional economy. After the completion of this undersea tunnel, China’s revenue will reach its highest peak.
